Sugar beet require high-quality soil. As all other crops, beet need nutritients; however, not too much nutrition. Excess of nutritients deteriorates the beet quality, wastes resources and may cause environmental problems. The nutrient content of the soil is therefore checked and fertilisation adjusted to the actual need. Beet are sown in early spring.
