In dairy products, sugar is found mainly in fruit yogurts, chocolate milk and desserts. Sugar has a wider range of applications in the ice cream industry, as a flavouring agent, for decoration and as a means of reducing the ice cream’s freezing point. Lowering the freezing point helps ice cream manufacturers produce ice cream that is silky smooth.
