often involved when we launch new business projects, and because of the input I can provide I have influence on strategic decisions.

Employed since: 1979 in Sakskøbing
– My job is to support and develop all IT systems and business processes relating to procurement – from the first supplier contact to payment for delivery. From the vast amount of data, I also compile statistics and reports used for the further strategic development of the Procurement Function.
– My professional challenge is to reach all users while creating a system in our procurement processes. That task spans the smith requiring a ball bearing at on of our factories to procurement of the many thousand tonnes of raw cane sugar used at our refineries. In my position, it is thus paramount to be proactive. One has to be able to interpret the users’ needs and be one step ahead of their wishes. It is also important to be unambiguous – otherwise we will not reach the standardisation required to be efficient.
– Since my role is to coordinate, I am not bound to my office but often travel, and I am always in dialogue with colleagues from other parts of the company. That gives me great freedom and flexibility to plan my tasks, but it also means that I work long hours at times.

I started working as a graphical designer at the factory in Sakskøbing, Denmark, and have continuously received training inside and outside the company to have the right competences for the tasks and responsibility I have today. Most recently, I have been encouraged by Nordic Sugar to attend a supplementary training programme, and I have accepted the offer.
