A team of around 100 people work in staff functions such as finance, legal affairs, sustainable development, HR, sales & marketing, communications and IT.

 

The headquarters accommodate several staff associations, including an art society, book club and sports club.

History

The site of Nordic Sugar's headquarters has been a base for the Danish Sugar Factories since the late 19th century.

 

A sugar refinery located at the site burned down and it was subsequently decided to build a new refinery due to the possibility of unloading raw sugar shipped in from far-away countries. The characteristic red buildings were built in 1912-13 in the same style as Copenhagen's warehouses.

 

The buildings that were hit by stray British bombs during the Second World War were used for refining activities up to 1964. Up to 1985 the buildings were used as warehouses and in 1989 when the buildings were modernised turned into the present headquarters.

Nordic Sugar Headquarters is located approx. 15 minutes drive from Copenhagen Airport and 5 minutes drive from the Copenhagen central station.
